Feature Artist: Patricia Wolf

Happy Sunday, everyone!

It's hard to believe this is the beginning of the last full week of September, isn't it? The good news is, we're that much farther away from the scorching heat of August. The bad news is, we're that much closer to the miserable cold of January. Oh well, for now we have great weather, so let's turn our attention to the artist of the week, Patricia Wolf.

Patricia Wolf is a designer located in Smithville, Texas who is out to make Western Americana style available to the nation. All of Wolf's fabulous creations are 100% made in Texas, which means it's obviously the best that money can buy! We are very proud to say that our very own Davis & Blevins Gallery is the only place in North Texas where Wolf's products are sold! Make sure you stop by the check out the goodies, but until then, here is a photograph of some of the items we sell.

Items range in price from $24-$290

Those purses look pretty fabulous, ladies! So, grab your husbands, boyfriends, dads or whoever and run on down to Davis & Blevins Gallery before they're all gone! Have a great week!

Until Next Time,

The Davis & Blevins Gallery Team

Feature Artist: Doug Ricketts

Hello, all!

We hope you are enjoying the marvelously cooler weather we have been experiencing lately! It's really starting to seem like fall is on its way! We have recently sold one of my favorite pieces, which has prompted this celebratory blog about its artist, Doug Ricketts!

I swear to y'all, this man is after my own heart with the work he does. All of his pieces incorporate bits of old farm materials that were on the verge of being forgotten. Things like windmill blades, barn siding and farming tools are given new life in his unique and beautiful furniture. As a history fanatic, I truly appreciate this man's aims of preserving our wonderful history in such beautiful and usable ways. If that weren't enough, Ricketts includes information about where the recycled articles came from with every piece he creates, preserving the storied history of the piece as well as the piece itself.

Below are the two Doug Ricketts pieces that you may have seen in our Gallery!

"Red Mesa Tine"
Featuring pieces of a hay fork and old bailing wire
SOLD

"Last Quarter Tall Case"
Featuring reclaimed elevator tin, a harrow knife and jack gear
$2,800

Also in the photo:
"Horse Herd"
Charlie Ringers
Kinetic Sculpture
$800

As you can see, Ricketts pieces are not only historic and usable, but beautiful as well! We wish you a happy week!

Until Next Time,

The Davis & Blevins Gallery Team
